There are few places we love more than the outdoors. The quiet and solitude of a walk in the country, the feel of the tug on the line on a breezy evening, or just simply resting in the shade on a sunny day and watching the birds, bugs, and plants around you. Our outdoor journey is just beginning; fishing, hunting, camping, foraging, and outdoor survival are all things we are really starting to get into and loving every minute of it along the way.
There really is so much out there that can become a part of a homestead life if you know where to look. While our homestead is not large enough to grow everything we will need for survival, hunting, fishing, and foraging will help to fill in those gaps over time.
Not long ago, Tim started The Outdoor Beginners, a YouTube channel dedicated to those just starting out in learning to enjoy the outdoors. It is a channel set up from the perspective of someone who knew absolutely nothing about the outdoors growing up and has taught himself almost every step he has learned along the way. He has come a long way from catching his first fish at 23 and having no clue how to get it off the hook, to providing several meals each month from the local lakes and rivers. He has now just finished his hunters ed and plans on taking the next step into hunting this fall. You can follow The Outdoor Beginners on Facebook or YouTube if this is of interest to you!
